| Description | In this paper, we extend this series to the iron(II) derivativessynthesized either in H2O leading to [Fe(vdCOO)2(H2O)2]2H2O(1) or inD2O leading to [Fe(vdCOO)2(D2O)2]2D2O (2). The crystalstructures of 1 and 2 are investigated by single-crystal X-raydiffraction at room temperature and at 90 K. In the complex, onecoordinated water molecule has a rather abnormal behavior.To tackle this phenomenon, we use a multi-technique approachrelying on the simultaneous analysis of X-ray crystallographicdata, 57Fe Mo¨ssbauer spectroscopy and solid state 2H-NMRspectroscopy. Moreover, the magnetic properties are investigatedby variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurementsbetween 300 K and 2 K. The exchange interactionparameters of the whole series of complexes (M = Fe, Co, Ni)are analyzed and discussed. | |||||||||||||||
